Renee and Conor’s Canfield Casino Wedding in Saratoga was an honest to goodness dream. And it wasn’t just Renee and Conor’s wedding day dreams come to life, but it was a dream event to behold and capture through my photographer eyes as well. Every single aspect was perfect down to the tiniest detail, most importantly their love.
Allow me to set the stage: it’s a crisp but unseasonably warm day for early November. I walk into Renee’s suite at the Adelphi Hotel and the vibe is just chill. The girls are chatting away as they finish up hair and makeup and crack open a bottle of champagne to toast to what lay ahead. Renee has built time into her schedule to enjoy every moment. From hanging with her girls, to sashaying on the balcony of the Adelphi as Broadway street sounds buzs below. I leave her to meet Conor downstairs. He is ansty with anticipation and the smile on his face is so wide, he looks like he’s going to burst. It’s time for the first look and when he and Renee see each other, their excitement collides into a moment of soft romance and giggles. We spend the next forty five minutes finding the coolest spaces in and around the hotel and nearby alleyways to grab photos. They nuzzle and kiss and soak up the moment. There is no rush, no stress, no double checking watches. They are just being together, they’re t minus two hours from tying the knot and they know it can only keep getting better from here.
The rest of the day continues in this marvelous mood with every second steeped in sweet rapture. What a day; what a perfect dream of a day; what a lovely way to start a marriage.
