Lexi and John’s Inn at Erlowest Wedding on Lake George was simply awesome. Maybe it’s because I got married on Lake George and it holds a super special place in my heart, but weddings on the old LG always have a way of hitting me with all the feels.
The rustle of the leaves as they dance in the breeze. The glass-like reflection of the mountains against still waters. The hovering scent of pine. The repetitively soothing splash of the water as it laps against the shoreline. The sense of ease that befalls me when my eyes rest on the expanse. No matter how far I travel, I’ll always believe that there is no better heaven.
Add Lexi and John to this scene and you’re guaranteed the perfect day. Lexi and John’s love is pure and raw and filled with a deep respect. They cherish each other. You see it in the way Lexi holds John’s face when he cries.. And you see it in the way he gazes at her with a look that reminds us all that she is his absolute.
Despite all of the sweetness this day held, my very favorite part occurred in the closing moments of the evening when even the seated spectators stood to join the action on the dancefloor. With their most treasured family and friends surrounding them, Lexi and John belted out the words to ‘Piano Man’ and the wide circle around them closed in, until they were fully encompassed with the love and support every guest carried into the day with them. They glowed as they sang and smiled and kissed and rang in day one of the rest of their lives together.
