From the moment we met at their engagement session at Yaddo Gardens (see it here), I just knew I was going to love every second of photographing Erica and Jeff’s Revolution Hall wedding. As it turns out, I was right – the day couldn’t have been more picture perfect. It all started with Erica and her immediate family getting ready in her parents’ bedroom in her childhood home. I couldn’t help but swallow down waves of emotion as I imagined Erica and her two sisters, now grown, as little girls running into the same bedroom on Christmas morning to coax their parents awake, or the same three daughters sneaking up the stairs and walking carefully past their parents’ door when they snuck in late after being out with friends. This tightly knit family of five has shared so many memories in this space and to witness them create more beautiful moments here together was so powerful and moving.
Every second of the day to follow carried the same touching significance. One moment built upon another and upon another, leading to Jeff’s shear excitement at seeing Erica for the first time, Erica’s tears of happiness at the end of the aisle, add to the deep belly laughter shared among guests during Erica’s dad’s epic toast. The day was filled with joy from start to finish, a joy this couple is clearly so grateful to relish in and share with those closest to them – a joy they so deserve.
