The rain was pouring so heavily on my way to shoot Michelle and Mike’s Revolution Hall wedding that cars were pulled over left and right on I-90 to wait it out in hopes of better visibility. Although rain on a wedding day has been known to make even the easiest going brides cry, it’s also something some photographers dread. It can limit our options for photos ops, and make outdoor images super difficult and sometimes impossible to create. But I wasn’t the slightest bit worried. For one, Mike and Michelle had chosen to be married at Revolution Hall, which is, by far, one of the best local venues to shoot indoors on a rainy day; I knew we’d have no shortage of nooks and crannies to take photos. And secondly, Michelle had emailed me the day before to discuss the forecast and after a few emails back and forth, I’d learned that she was not only armed with a cute umbrella to use that day, but that she was also the owner of an adorable pair of red Hunter rain boots, gifted to her by Mike last Christmas. I requested she bring them along so her pretty wedding shoes didn’t get ruined, and I think you’ll agree that the result is too cute for words.
When Michelle walked through the front door of Rev Hall, all dolled up and ready for hers and Mike’s first look, I audibly gasped. Her beauty literally took my breath away and I’m willing to bet you’ll feel the same when you catch your first glimpse of her in the images below. Flanked by Mike, who is handsome as heck in his handmade peach plaid tie, and her boys Keegan and Owen who are as sweet, polite, and perfectly behaved as they are adorable, Michelle just glowed.
This wedding was an absolute dream from start to finish. Michelle and Mike’s totally laid back personalities, their willingness to do anything for a fun shot, their ability to go with whatever flow Mother Nature presented, and their sheer excitement to each be marrying the love of their lives made for an awesome start to my 2016 wedding season!
