I have had the joy and pleasure of photographing Nikki and Derick more than a few times over the past few years. Back in 2014 I shot their engagement, their wedding, and their best friends’ wedding. And this year I was lucky enough to photograph their friends’ wedding in January, Derick’s brother’s wedding in May, and Nikki’s sister’s wedding in August. Having them in my frame always makes me feel so happy, so when they shared the news with me back in January that she was expecting I totally flipped. I was elated for them! But then I flipped again when Nikki got in touch with me in the Spring to ask if I’d photograph their baby boy when he made his entrance into the world. Why would I ever say no??
Meeting Liam has been at the top of my list of favorite things I did in the closing weeks of summer. His calm aura and his sweet little teeny features just melted me. In the hours I hung out and photographed him, he made tons of sweet and funny faces, but he never cried once. And his parents: they’re total naturals at this mommy and daddy thing, just as I expected they’d be.
In recent months, Derick has taken to photography as a serious hobby and his photos are stunning. You better believe I’ll be stalking his and Nikki’s social media pages in the months and years to come so I can watch Liam grow through Derick’s eyes.
