Blooms for Rooms | Featured Wedding Vendors of the Capital Region, NY

The first time I laid eyes on Carrie artwork, I was floored.  I was shooting a wedding at Taste downtown when Carrie walked in delivering the girls’ bouquets.  They were light, airy, and subtle – the perfect complement to the bride’s classically cut dress and the groom’s grey suit.  And Carrie wore a smile to match the brightness of the pastel arrangements.  Ever since then, I’ve been one of Carrie’s biggest fans – I can’t wait to see when she posts new photos of her arrangements on social media and I’m always so impressed with every new design she comes up with – her eye for arrangement and her ability to match the florals to the overall style of a couple and the essence of their wedding day is impeccable.  Carrie of Blooms for Rooms isn’t your run of the mill florist who creates the same design week after week, wedding after wedding – she is a true artist who appreciates designing florals that are as unique as the couples she works with.

Here are some photos featuring Blooms for Rooms’ arrangements designed for Jessica and Ryan’s wedding at Burlap and Beams

How did you get your start in floral design?

My love of flowers goes way back to my childhood days, but my start in floral design began by taking a two year floral design program at Southern Adirondack BOCES.  I fell in love with it right away and had a natural talent for design. I worked for several floral shops in the industry over the course of 20 years. I then realized I wanted to do something very different and offer very unique varieties of flowers that are often not seen or available at most flower shops. This was how Blooms for Rooms became a reality.

How long have you been in business?

This is our fourth year in business. I’m very proud to be a newer business with fresh ideas for every couple we work with.

Do you have a storefront or a space you work out of where clients can come and view your designs?

I am different than the average brick and mortar flower shop. I have my own private space that I work from at my home. It is equipped with a walk in cooler and design space that was custom built by my husband, Matt. I enjoy making my designs in this space because I can have total focus on the flowers I am designing with without any distractions of running a storefront. Couples and potential clients are able to view my extensive portfolio of designs on my website (linked below)

What do you like most about working in the wedding industry?

My favorite moment is the look on my brides face when I deliver the personal bouquets. I love the oohing and ahhhing, squeals of joy, and even tears when what we’ve been working on to create for months is realized on the day of their wedding.

Tell us about what inspires you…

Beautiful, unique, fresh flowers and designs, and meeting and working with all kinds of different couples and exceeding their expectations with amazing beauty on their wedding day.
