Vicky and Jimmy were married on September 8th. Just in case you don’t remember, that was the day Albany County was bombarded with severe thunderstorm alerts and tornado warnings. All morning I prayed that the weather men were just being super proactive and that we wouldn’t see a drop of wet stuff fall from the sky later that day. After enjoying beautiful blue sky morning, Vicky and Jimmy were married in a lovely ceremony at All Saints Catholic Church in Albany. They exchanging rings, said “I do”, walked back down the aisle with their faces aglow, exited the church, and were welcome by the sun smiling down upon them.
After taking photos at the church, they climbed into the limo with their wedding party of twelve and headed to their venue: The Edison Club in Rexford. As I followed behind the limo, I watched the skies darken to an ominous shade and then suddenly the clouds delivered a deluge. The rain was so heavy that my wipers couldn’t keep up and I lost sight of the limo just ahead of me. When I arrived at the club, I gathered my gear and watched as the rain subsided just enough to allow guests to dodge large droplets as they sprinted from their cars into the shelter of the club. Although we’d all envisioned beautiful photos of Vicky, Jimmy, and their wedding party flanked by the rolling greens of the golf course surrounding the club, the rain pressed on, forcing us to stick to drier locations. Thankfully, Vicky and Jimmy were great sports – they weren’t about to let anything put a damper on their day and the party proceeded with merriment and gusto!
