Troy, NY Photographer | Styled Bridal Shoot

When Erin Muller of Erin Muller Makeup approached me over the winter to ask if I was interested in doing a styled bridal shoot, I couldn’t have been more excited and eager. The thing I love about being a wedding photographer is that every wedding is so different from the next – you don’t know until you arrive on the day-of what the details will look like and how each of the couple’s chosen vendor’s components will blend together for their big day.  But the thought of doing a styled shoot, which would enable Erin and I to hand-select some local vendors we admire and, in effect, plan our own wedding day –sans actual wedding of course– just seemed like so much fun!

It took a few weeks to pull together all the details, but in the end I couldn’t be more thrilled with the final product.  One of my favorite aspects of the day was getting to shoot at two absolutely stunning locations – we began at Gardner Farm Inn where Erin and hairstylist Gina Tarbell styled our “bride”, model Meaghan Sherlock, and then videographer Nicolas Murphy (see his video linked at the bottom of the post) and I ran the halls of the palatial inn choosing our favorite locations for Meaghan to pose.  Then after a dress change and a re-style, it was off to Oakwood Cemetery of Troy, a location I have been eager to return to shoot at for a while. There we were allowed inside the chapel to grab some images and then we headed back outside to race against the sun and the impending chilly evening to capture some images on the gorgeous grounds.

It was an absolute joy and pleasure to have the chance to work beside so many incredible local talents on this project.  I can’t thank them enough for the creative vision they brought to the table, and I hope to have the chance to collaborate with each and every one of them again in the future.  Please check out their work… you won’t regret it!
