The Fargiones

nicole contacted me last february to express her interest in scheduling a family portrait session. although she and her husband were eager to capture photos of their children before they hit their next growth spurts, they wanted to wait until the weather turned warm in order to shoot outdoors.  alas, winter turned to spring and, as so often happens, spring turned to summer right before our eyes.  although the weather was ideal, opposing schedules worked against us and it wasn’t until august that a date was nailed down and potential locations were discussed.  nicole and her husband, mike, knew they wanted to shoot in an urban setting and they eventually decided that the capitol and empire state plaza would make for a strong backdrop.

i met up with the fargiones on a gorgeous evening last week just as the sun was sinking in the sky.  right away i could sense nicole and mike’s children wanted little to do with sitting still and posing pretty.  how could one blame them?  the day was beautiful and the wide open space of the plaza stood barren, just begging for their tiny feet to run about and explore.  the following collection captures two year old tyler and one year old brittany’s independent, adventuresome spirits in their true form.  thanks, nicole and mike, for letting me hang with your little ones – they are a joy!
