It may be the start of April, but the Capital Region awoke this morning to a substantial veil of snow covering the ground. Unlike some, I don’t mind the snow one bit. Save for my regular walks with my dog, the cold weather gives me a good five month long excuse to stay inside, be productive, and tend to the mess of tasks I typically neglect when the weather is warm.
But last week’s wave of 40+ degree weather got me in the mood for that all-encompassing warmth that can only be achieved from some time spent with the sun, and I began to realize how much I’d missed it.
But despite the fact that today’s snow caught me by surprise, I was singing and bopping around my kitchen before my first cup of coffee had even been brewed. The snow outside couldn’t put a damper on the good mood I’ve been in since the official start of April. In less than one month I’ll be on the beach in Antigua soaking up the sun’s rays and photographing Marianna and Paul as they say “I do” before an intimate collection of family and friends (I know, pinch me…!!!)
Because many of the VIP in their lives can’t make the trip to Antigua, Marianna and Paul threw a dinner and dancing reception at Moscatiello’s in East Greenbush last month to celebrate their upcoming marriage with those nearest and dearest to them.
Surrounded by the love of their family and friends, and the sounds of the islands coming through DJ Chris Hollister’s speakers, Marianna and Paul celebrated in style with great food, great dancing, and great fun! As for me, I had the trmendous pleasure of becoming acquainted with the folks who will be accompanying the couple to the Carribbean for their official celebration. Meeting Marianna and Paul’s wonderfully kind contingency made me all the more exciting that I’ll be accompanying them to document the experience.
Here’s a glimpse back at Marianna and Paul’s engagement session, when their dream of marrying in Antigua was still but a vision.
Check back in one short month for some images of their dream as it comes true!
